IMPAKT-HiP: Preventing Hip Pain

Participants Needed

What causes hip pain? Is it certain types of physical activities, or a hip deformity called femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), or both?

Investigations of Mobility, Physical Activity, and Knowledge in Hip Pain (IMPAKT-HiP) is a 5-year, $2.5 million project being carried out by 14 top-level researchers across Canada.

Led by Dr. John Esdaile, Scientific Director at the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada, the research team believes that the key to preventing hip damage and hip osteoarthritis could lie in determining the cause of hip pain. Watch this video to learn more:
